Description	Chlamydia trachomatis is spherical or spheroidal, with a rigid cell wall outside the plasma membrane and a smooth surface layer outside the wall. The initiator is larger in size and less regular in shape, with a resilient envelope and no rigid cell wall, and both the protozoa and the initiator contain DNA and RNA.
